Hurricane Harvey hit Texas on August 26th, as a Category 4 and dumped over 20 trillion gallons of water on the state of Texas. A state of emergency was declared in 50 Counties in Texas. CIA is working in and around Corpus Christi - including the communities of Rockport, Aransas Pass, Bayside and Woodsboro. Please consider making a donation to help our boots on the ground. Volunteer Regsitration is closed. While we will continue to work through the end of the month (and volunteers who have already registered will still be serving with us), we are at max capacity and would not be able to utilize any other volunteers at this point. Our heavy euqipment (along with qualified operators) will continue to work and serve through November - however we cannot provide lodging or meals for any volunteers beyond the end of October.
Primary ways you can help:
2. Volunteer. We need lots of people to come and work alongside us. There are a lot of people who need help and we want to help as many as possible, and to do that we need the body of Christ to come together and show the world how Christians live out their faith. Currently we have as many volunteers as we can accomodate and have work for through the duration of our deployment. We have closed volunteer registration accordingly.
3. Pray. We ask first that you lift up the people in Texas and Louisiana who have been impacted by this storm. We also ask that you pray for our staff, core team, and volunteers as we are working in Texas.
4. Send Supplies.
