The effects of Hurricane Matthew are being felt weeks after the rain has stopped and storm clouds have passed. As damage reports continue to roll in, U.S. officials are reporting damages of at least $6 billion, making Matthew the costliest hurricane since Sandy in 2012. Just in North Carolina, Hurricane Matthew caused $1.5 billion in damage and affected 100,000 structures. After meeting with pastors, and other organizations on the ground, the Mayor and local officials, as well as the state VOAD, we have determined that CIA is needed in North Carolina, and we have launched a full scale deployment in Wayne County, NC.

Please consider now how you might support this deployment, either financially or by volunteering with us as "boots on the ground" to help bring Hope to these families who have been flooded.

You may also send needed supplies directly to our team on the ground using our wishlist (click here).

Volunteer registration is open, and we are scheduling volunteers through December 9. Volunteers need to be 18+ years old, and able to commit to a minimum of one full working day (7AM-6PM). As always, we will provide a place to stay, 3 meals/day, hot showers, and as much work as you can handle. It is essential that you register and get your dates confirmed at least 24 hours before you plan to arrive/volunteer.

While Christ In Action is not taking new requests for assistance, if you have been personally affected by Hurricane Matthew, you may be able to receive help from another agency by reporting your need to the Crisis Cleanup hotline at 800-451-1954. We cannot guarantee any response or response times from other organizations.
